Michael grew up on a farm in Southern Ontario, where problem-solving and hard work were just part of the day. That same grounded, get-it-done attitude carried into his career as a professional geologist and now as President and founding partner of Fladgate.
Over more than two decades in mineral exploration, he’s built a reputation for steady leadership and technical depth, specializing in the structural interpretation of gold deposits. His track record spans major and junior players like Teck, Placer Dome and Goldcorp, and he frequently serves as the Qualified Person for NI 43-101 disclosures.
At the office, Mike’s the one untangling cords, fixing gear, and quietly making things run smoother. Outside of work, he’s incredibly passionate about the community, serving as President of the Bay & Algoma Business Association and volunteering whenever opportunities arise. A father of three, he also makes time to get outside with his boys whenever he can.
